The clinic will start with an educational session of approximately 1 – 1 ½ hours lecture and demo about bits and bridle fit. Then, those who have registered for a bit fitting session will work with Tara for an oral assessment of the individual horse. Riders then test bits from her trial kit. The fitting also includes a thorough assessment of their bridle fit, and checks for sensitivity on the TMJ, poll, hyoid groove and jaw. Those completing a fitting are under no obligation to purchase a bit from Tara, and will receive a detailed report of their horse’s assessment which they can reference in the future. Tara will fit English or Western snaffles – English curbs or doubles can be fitted as well at an additional fee – please inquire. Bit Fitting Session fee includes day stall and shavings.
